Striper anglers are doing best with live bait, but those trolling are catching their fair share. A great area to try is Bosher's dam. Dragging a minnow/squid combo is a long time favorite of many. As we progress into June, the bridge tunnel catches of Flounder become greater. The kayakers are doing very well in various places. Folks have been doing well on the Rapp with the Yellow Perch, and the Crappie. Calm, sunny days can be difficult. The Pups are still outnumbering the Specks, but the Trout are coming around nicely. Docks are usually a good bet now also. Some of the offshore charters had good success over the weekend. As long as the water doesn't become muddy, the Bass and Crappie fishing will remain good all winter on the tidal rivers. Bass anglers have been doing well on the Potomac river still. Some of the Cobia chasers are doing better with live bunker, over eels, but much success is being had with the usual baits. The Appomattox, and Chick rivers are also excellent for Bass right now. Surf temps are still warm along the Outer Banks, so the Drum bite has not peaked. Drum can be caught just about anywhere, but have been caught better near shoals, or from the surface, in large schools. Kerr Lake elevation is at 299.88'. Small prop baits, buzzbaits, and poppers, can be especially good. Some of the charter boats out of Oregon Inlet have have been returning with Black fin Tuna, Mahi, and Wahoo. Look for the James and Chick to produce big bags this month, especially in the next 2 weeks. Kerr Lake remains tough, with 12-14 lbs taking the wins. (550 cal).
